Advent Rising delayed to 2005

Majesco cites already strong fall lineup, crowded holiday season as reasons for delaying the sci-fi action game.
Majesco Games announced today that it has pushed back the release of the sci-fi action game Advent Rising. Originally planned to hit stores this September for the Xbox and the PC, the game is now scheduled for a release in early 2005.

The third-person action game is being developed by Glyphx Games and follows a story written by Ender's Game author Orson Scott Card. The story is set around the character Gideon Wyrth, who is a human in a universe that reveres the human race as mythical beings. The game also features controllable vehicles and a bullet time effect.

Majesco stated that by delaying Advent Rising, revenue from its potentially strong fall/holiday lineup, including BloodRayne 2 and Guilty Gear X2 #Reload, would allow the company to fully realize its plans for Advent Rising. Already planning a whole franchise around the game, the company also wants to free Advent Rising from a crowded holiday season, allowing it to make more of an impact when it is released.

Well, it could be that they've just been slacking off....but it sounds like they're being honest. And it's a good reason for delaying it too, considering the topic of crowded Xmas seasons a little while ago.

Man, Advent Rising looks awesome too, plus Orson Scott Card is writing for it, so it will have an awesome story.

Yeah, Advent Rising is one I'm looking forward to. I read about it a few months ago in Play and it seems to have an interesting story.
