Looks like we may be getting Fable 3 sooner than later. But the news comes not from Lionhead, but British TV and radio star Jonathan Ross (via Eurogamer).

Following last night's BAFTA Video Game Awards, Ross wished his fans goodnight with, "Goodnight all. Must go to bed. Got asked to do voice in Fable 3 tonight. Subarashi. Oyasuminasai. Woss out."

Subarashi indeed.

Later asked to confirm by another Tweeter, Ross said, "Yes they are doing it. Charlie Brooker said he would do a voice for it to! Great fun!!"

Unfortunately for Ross, the industry generally isn't too pleased when an actor announces a product early. Thus it was this morning that we received, "Good morning. Today I must file DVDs, write a piece for The Times, apologize to Peter Molyneux then go Thorpe Park for SAW rollercoaster."

Asked why he had to apologize, he replied, "Because I think I revealed something that was not officially announced yet..."

Wonder if he still gets to do the role?

Um, oops? lol

Re: Fable 3 accidentally leaked, thanks to a British star

Hope it doesn't turn out to be Fail 3.

Next month in San Francisco, Fable 3 will be shown finally. Hopefully it's actual gameplay instead of trailers.

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: You're Gonna be Pissed. Says Peter Molyneux)

Speaking to Gamereactor, Lionhead maestro Peter Molyneux revealed that there will be some big Fable 3 news at the X10 event this week. "There's some very, very big things happening in Fable," said Molyneux, "Bigger than you think, and it's going to really upset people." Molyneux added that he is "really scared" about telling people the news, saying, "They're going to get super pissed off, they really are." Still, he concluded that it's "the right thing to do," and confirmed that he will be demonstrating the mystery announcement at X10 in San Francisco. Joystiq's theory: The entire story of Fable 2 was a dream sequence. Whatever it is, we'll be delivering the news directly from X10, so Joystiq's staff and readers can all get pissed off together.

In the meantime, be sure to watch the whole interview, which also contains some really interesting talk about Project Natal.

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: You're Gonna be Pissed. Says Peter Molyneux)

Oh God, as if the first two weren't terrible enough. I could see this announcement being that it's an ALL Natal project. *cringes*

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: You're Gonna be Pissed. Says Peter Molyneux)

Well, at least Peter admitted to it. That's the first step. :lol

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: You're Gonna be Pissed. Says Peter Molyneux)

This guy hasn't been able to keep a promise since he announced Fable 1. At least he's realizing things now.

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: You're Gonna be Pissed. Says Peter Molyneux)

Why do people still listen? How many years has it been? I don't mind the games, particularly because I never paid attention to Molyneux. Never heard of him actually before I played Fable I. Haven't been disappointed so far, but I haven't played Fable II yet either. So I guess we'll see.

Maybe it's not going to be available as a boxed disc?

If there's one thing we could've used in Fable 2, it was a more fleshed-out co-op system. Sure, we could see our friends' orbs floating about Albion and we could even invite them to play as a one-off character in our world, but it was one unable to collect experience or have any lasting impact on our game. As you might image, Lionhead's head lion Peter Molyneux is ready to deliver just that in Fable 3. Molyneux told the 4Guys 1UP podcast: "I heard you all about co-op. You want to have your own hero come into the world. Okay, fine, you can have that definitely."

Detailing the system further, he admits that the player's dog and weapons will also be available in co-op. "When you come into my world, you come in as your hero, with your dog, with all your unique weapons, self-crafted weapons. I heard you -- you don't wanna be tied to my camera, you wanna go off and do your own thing in my world. Fine, fair enough."

That said, he warned about "consequences" from bringing in said friends to your own version of Albion. "It means careful who you invite in, 'cause they can screw the whole thing up, man!" And then, when the possibility of using the new "touch" functionality came up, things took a turn for the weird. "Yes you can use touch with your co-op partner. Yes you can walk down the street hand-in-hand. Yes you can drag your co-op partner to your dungeon and see what happens. Absolutely." Keep in mind, folks -- what happens in the dungeon stays in the dungeon. Rawr!

Yes, you heard right. My character can knock up YOUR character of the opposite sex.

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: Monty Python Legend JOHN CLEESE is your butler!)

LMFAO! That's hilarious! :lol

Re: Fable 3 Thread (Update: Monty Python Legend JOHN CLEESE is your butler!)

I'm cautiously optimistic... Fable 2 isn't bad at all, IMO, and while I don't expect it to live up to the hype I also look forward to it. More exploration (truly open world), a better menu system and actual maps, and less annoying NPCs would be what I'd hope most for.

... And I have to admit it would be hilarious to tell the hubby that someone knocked me up on Xbox Live. :lol

Re: Fable 3 Thread (October 26th release)

Is anyone interested in this game still? Looks really tempting, but I don't want to be let down again.

Re: Fable 3 Thread (October 26th release)

I'm actually tempted to get this. I need to buy Fallout New Vegas first though.

Re: Fable 3 Thread (October 26th release)

I'm about two hours in it and I like it. I can't help but want to call Logan 'Loghain' sometimes. :lol

no release date but it is playable at CES this week.

It gets mediocre reviews (ok, IGN gives it good reviews, but that's about it). Do people love it?? If you have it - what do you think?
