I have run into a few games (Magical Drop 2 and Super Sidekicks 2) where the Japanese menus were a problem to figuring out what was going on. I decided to test my soldering skills on my Japanese NGCD. It was actually super easy and painless. The board already has solder on it so all I had to do was heat it and poke the wires through.
I originally tried to use a bent paper clip but it was too thick. I had some wire lying around so I chopped and stripped it and it worked great. I don't plan on adding a switch because I don't want to drill a hole in my case. I also don't care for fighting games so any censoring doesn't bug me at all.
Anyway, I am finally enjoying my games in English
