Hey, I've been reading these boards for a few months and finally registered.
I'm looking to buy a Neo Geo. I played an emulator and had all the roms. Instantly I wanted the actual console because nothing is as good as the real thing. I deleted the emulator immediately.
I'm not sure whether to go CD or AES. I do realize the load time on the CD are bad, but that to me makes it all the more hardcore. 8) Alot of reviews have said that the sound on the NGCD are better than on AES. Is there reallt that much of a difference?
Also, there are some games like Garou MOTW and Capcom vs SNK that are not out on CD and I would like to own. Those games are pretty expensive though. I saw Garou MOTW going for $400!! So from a financial stand point the CD seems like a better choice. However, getting the AES could be a good long term investment. I'll appreciate the games that much more.
What about the controller? The pad or the stick? I have read on the boards that the stick was meant for the AES and the pad was meant for the CD. Which one is better to use?
I know right off the bat, my first two games would probably be Metal Slug 2 and a KOF game. What else is reccomended though?
As you can see, i'm pretty torn between CD and AES. I really appreciate if you guys can answer my questions.
