Once a Month - Neogeocd.net Updates
« on: February 14, 2009, 06:37:18 PM »
I know there isn't a lot of content going around right now... but I think we should try for a once a month update.

Whether it is news, reviews, codes, or something... I think we should attempt to provide a few pieces of information per month.

What are your thoughts?  Post it up.

Well I just played Rally Chase for about 4 hours straight. I will probably play for another 4 hours tomorrow and then start working on writing a review.

After that, I am going to start on Riding Heroes. Though my early impressions is that the game is effing hard, so that won't be accomplished in a day or two, but probably take a couple of weeks.

That I can do in a month for sure.

1 review recieved from Kgenthe... another one coming.

Anyone else wish to participate in the next update?

I need to make a set update day.  It will be a Friday or Saturday during each month.

Any suggestions? Feel free to throw them out.

First of the month seems like a logical choice.

I plan on writing a review each Sunday till I run out of games (offering any discounts in your store?  ;)).

Going to do any cosmetic changes to ngcd.net?

I wouldn't mind doing some kind of review on a game, but I have only been able to beat and go through two games so far.  :lol I feel humiliated sometimes playing a NGCD game, (lousy gamer) but having the time of my life.  :lol I may just focus on a few games and see what I can do.  ;)

Kgenthe and retro... Are you interested in joining the neocd.net dev team?

If so, I'll make you a part of the group... And we can handle a few of the particulars in a board setup for the dev team.

Let me know.

Others - Please keep posting up ideas and thoughts.

:lol well... You would be surprised at how many people in the past changed their mind within 1 day :)

I will add you and kgenthe to the dev group.  I hope to have that all setup tomorrow night.

I think there are a few things we should discuss and I would like to put some ideas out on the table regarding the future.

Also, don't expect a lot of activity at 1st, but I am working to update more of both sites.  My schedule is insane unfortunately...

yea regular updates are good. i would like this place to be my one stop for all things neo geo cd  :). i think you should have more than one review for games, have an information page for each game, comparisons to AES/MVS versions, an information page for each of the three cd consoles (front, top loader, cdz). just basically more history and more insight and information for the consoles and the games for it, screenshots and those things.

oh and a high scores page for the community. that would get people playing their games so they could see their name at the top of the list.

Believe me, I understand the insanely busy thing. I'm trying to earn a master's degree by May right now. But, our Neo Geo CD's have given us so many good times, we owe it our very best. Besides, who needs sleep?

:lol I am starting to enjoy lack of sleep less and less these days :)

I would like to make this place a better hub for everything Neo Geo CD and I think we will do that.

I will need increased member participation... site redesign...etc.  Really... the Neogeocd.net section SHOULD be in a content management system.  Although my 1st test going into this didn't work as well.

I have a test CMS site... but I need to work on the custom layout before I display it to the boards for thoughts/opinions.

I think we can become an active hub again if you ask me... it's just going to take time and some work.

I've been working a WordPress Theme for a while, it just takes forever to learn this stuff from scratch. The last website I ran didn't even use Style Sheets, hehe. A CMS system would make updating a breeze though.

I think so.
I spent the day giving Robo Army a going over and started a writeup on it. I played through each play mode.  ;) Being that I am on a four day workweek, it is giving me some time presently.

I have been playing a good bit of the World Heroes series lately. Talking about them in another topic got me interested in playing them all and teasing the differences out of each.

A four-part review on each of the World Heroes installments? I'm just crazy enough to try it.

FYI... I am testing a couple things with the dev section 1st... then I will add the Cutchemist and REtro.

Retro,[ I received your review.  Thanks! :)

As for the updates.  How does the 1st of every month or 10th of every month sound?

I don't really think it matters either way. Whenever works around your schedule is probably the best. I would just like to see the only site dedicated to the NGCD get some updates! Yesterday marked 2 years of inactivity if the front page is accurate.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter when. The updates will be welcomed and will finally show signs of life.  :lol

Blue, I will be working on another review, maybe this next weekend. Might not have it finished, but I will be playing the game.

Neo Drift Out has been submitted. Next up is Windjammers.

On a side note, Neo Drift Out kicks butt  :D
