Waco, TX
Last weekend I was at flea market and I came across something I would LEAST expect to see here in the middle of Waco, Texas. Since I have yet to see one place or yard sale...or flea market to have one of these little guys floating around. So, here it is....
a Coleco ColecoVision (2400 Model)
For only....$3....(three dolla! make ya holla!)
The lady had NO idea what it was, she said and I quote "I dunno, my son gives me these things, so I guess $3?"
Me: SURE!!
Still even included the Donkey Kong cart.
So when I got home, I cleaned it up (poor thing). Since it looked like an NES RF Output, I used that, the signal was bad, but then it hit me, I remember reading that anything before the NES used the Atari like setup (with an RCA Video/Audio single cable, the switch box, and two other parts for the back of the TV)
Yet I could make out the picture on my screen (Blurred picture and buzzing noise), but it still WORKS!
I had a sudden feeling that this poor Coleco was thanking me for saving it back there!
Now I was with my dad when I found this, he didn't reconize it since my family grew up in a home of Atari and Commodore 64 during the early 80's. Plus, this is the first time in my life I have ever seen and held one in my hands in person. So it's a real treat for me. Since, I've heard so much about it.
