August 17, 2004 - Originally expected to arrive in stores next year, Viewtiful Joe 2 will be instead coming out on November 23 for both the PS2 and the GameCube for $39.99. The low price and the early date are both a pleasant surprise for fans of the old-school side-scrolling action. With some addictive gameplay and difficulty levels that were tougher than all hell, the original was a runner-up for IGN's Game of the Year last year.
While this new release date will be a little over a year after the original game came out on GameCube, it will only be two months after the scheduled release of Viewtiful Joe on the PS2
I hope this doesn't mean it's being rushed out - I'm not a fan of sequels - but I don't want to see this sequel become another Devil May Cry 2 or Driver 3. The price is sweet though - but it'll be at least $50 in Canada....
Both Viewtiful Joe games before X-mas? More addtions to the strongest X-mas lineup out there....The PS2's!!!!!!!!!!
