October 08, 2004 - Yesterday, we let you in on reports that THQ has preliminarily picked up rights to Juiced, the street racing title originally under the care of now-bankrupt Acclaim. Well, THQ has now officially confirmed the purchase of Juiced.

While THQ clarifies the deal is subject to final contract and closing conditions, if all goes as expected, the company will be polishing the title and sending Juiced to the streets of retail in summer of 2005. The game will still hit PC, PlayStation 2, and PC, as previously planned.

"We are very excited to have secured the rights to this strategic, highly sought after intellectual property," said Jack Sorensen, executive vice president of worldwide studios at THQ. "The team is off to a great start and now has the time to build Juiced into one of the premier brands in street racing."

Of course, we'll be bringing you more Juiced news and details as things proceed. Meantime, why not check out all our coverage so far?
