Sartori isn't doing anything wrong other than making minor jabs to get the point accross. So here's the problem as I see it.

Sartori likes Nintendo. Neph hates Nintendo. Actually no. He hates anyone who doesn't like Sony. And if you like Nintendo, then by default you hate Sony.

And this is as far as I will go on the subject because Neph likes to accuse me of baiting him. Oh well...

That is baiting you darn moron. If I hated Nintendo why would I be getting an onyx DS on Wednesday?

Aside from a few good titles here and there such as Exit, I'm really, really disappointed. Immense waste of 250 dollars. Whatever the price is now, it's not worth it either, I'm certain. I don't know about in Japan, but when I walk in to the game store in the United States and observe the "Greatest Hits" line of games for PSP, I see a bunch of crap I saw on Ps2 5 years ago. "ATV, SOCOM, etc" .. Games I never cared about to begin with. I hear Disgaea's coming to PSP. That's fruitful. Something good. Too bad it's just a port though. :-(

And Super Mario DS is how old? Mario Kart is how old? Super Mario Brothers is how old? The PSP is finally getting real titles worth owning - that's why I have one now. More than just ATV and SOCOM. If you took your head out of your butt and looked, you'd see it.

I like how you suddenly dropped the price argument as well as soon as you were proved wrong.

Different colours are one thing - Collectors want to buy those, so be it.

The updates between the GBA to SP and DS to Lite were less than two years each.

That's just ridiculous.

And no, I don't like it when other companies do it either - I refuse to buy an Ipod for the very same reason.

What's remarkable about this is the price. Super Mario 64 DS? Sure. 30 dollars.

I can find a ton of PSP games either used or as "Best of Titles for 2000-2500" yen.

Standard price for DS games? 4400 yen

And yet I'll still be picking up a black DS tomorrow after I get paid. I now have both handheld systems. Do you?

No. In fact, I'm happy there will be less worthless EA crap on a Sony system. Maybe they'll localise more games from Japan - like Suikoden I&II and the Shin Megami Tensei ports now.

Game creator Electronic Arts has announced the release of "EA Replay," a compilation of its '90s-era titles reprogrammed for use on Sony's PlayStation Portable.

Even with the upcoming launches of Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Wii consoles, the game industry can't ignore the marketing potential of nostalgia.

Redwood City, Calif.-based EA plans to jump onto the retro bandwagon on Nov. 7 with "EA Replay," a set of 14 of the company's titles that were originally released between 1990 and 1995. The games run the gamut from the martial-arts "Budokan" to the fantasy role-playing "Ultima VII," which has since morphed into the massive multiplayer online game "Ultima Online."

While "EA Replay" will be available only for Sony's PlayStation Portable handheld, the games featured in the compilation were originally released for a variety of platforms. Some, like "Wing Commander," were PC games. Others, such as the "Road Rash" series and "Haunting Starring Polterguy," were made for consoles like Super Nintendo or the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.

The appeal of old-school video games is nothing new. Arcade games originally launched in the 1980s were a big hit at this year's E3 trade show; and MySpace used a Flash version of "Pac-Man" to appease its fans when the social-networking service an suffered outage this summer.

But with "EA Replay," Electronic Arts is mining the nostalgic value of games introduced well after the "Pong" era--titles from the early to mid-1990s--and marketing them as "classics."

"EA Replay" is set to sell for $19.99.

Your Duties:  To come up with 1-3 news stories (or more) per week on gaming news.  It should be current...  or you can discuss gaming issues.... present problems...etc.  This would be something like IGN, and other gaming sites that report news.  Breaking news would be great to cover as well.  Hey... if you all can get interviews with companies... that would be a bonus.

Based on what I read Sartori didn't mention ANYTHING about the DS NOT having ports. Sure, it has ports...but they certainly don't cost as much as they did when they were originally released on their original system.

Make sure you read and fully understand everything before you start flinging names around 

Mario 64 was around 45000/5000 yen when it came out. As was New SMB. Close to - if not the same - as a regular game. You're splitting hairs.

And he certainly made it sound like the DS was all original content and that the PSP had *only* ports.

And don't tell me what to write.

Essentially, when Microsoft entered this "game", one of their agendas was to shorten console lifespan in an effort to gain traction quicker. You can see this trend with the release of the 360, as you stated, a mere 4 years after the X Box at a time of questionable release (considered "early"). If the Ps4 were to be out by 2010, this would be retaliation on Sony's behalf, likely only to occur of Microsoft actually gains momentum, as otherwise Sony has no need to shorten the console lifespan, in fact the opposite is true (benefit is gained from the length thereof).

Unlike Nintendo who re-release handhelds every year and a half or so.

Why not...I can't wait for this freaking game-it certainly won't be FFVII or VIII, but it'll take up my time waiting for God of War 2 in February.  Maybe I just have patience with things that you don't....

And then there's some overly priced media device that plays expensive movies and PSX/Ps2 ports that are overpriced.

Most often in the English language, words can be subsitituted that are similar in meaning. In this case, I am willing to believe that "best" can mean "Most popular." If this is the case, you don't have a leg to stand on. Was Nintendo the most popular at the event?? Pictures don't lie. Maybe it's because the Revolution secret was out, and Sony's big player has already been unveiled.
