I was reading an artcile earlier and they said that in 2005/2006 Atlus was working on a Megami Tensei for the PS3.

would you really take this off your list just because it's coming out on the Nintendo DS? i don't really get that but meh what do i know? I care more about what the game is about than what console it is for.
It's hard fir me to play my ds because I'm rarely mobile. I can barely focus on playing it when I'm at he because I own a console. The production values will be lower than other Atlus games like Demon's Soul

Atlus makes great games no matter the console, their production values of the DS might not be as good as the eye popping graphics of the PS3 but there is no doubt in my mind that Atlus can pull off something stylish and unique on the DS as well, like they did with Devil Survivor.
Again i care more about what the game is about (it's gameplay) than i do anything else, and i am a firm believer that a game for the DS can be as good as a game for the Wii/360/ps3... heck some games might only be able to exist on the DS only *looks at TWEWY*
for one i am happy Atlus is finally making a new Shin Megami Tensei Title, and i would have been equally happy if it was for any other console

That's easy. There was a Shin Megami Tensei due for PS3 according to the IGN Atlus page. I have all the ones released in the United States except for Devil Summoner part 1 and 2. Ignored those for nothing important. Just did. PS2 is pretty dead so i have to live off the collection.
