FF13 Lightning Fan Model
« on: March 22, 2010, 01:52:22 PM »
I have been modeling in 3D for about ten years, and lately I've been making a lot of work based on video game heroines. Here is one that I'm almost done with (Lightning from FF13), but I'm still trying to get her face and hair style right:

Modeled and Rendered in Blender (Free open source program) and color corrected in Photoshop:
Comments and criticism welcome:

CAUTION:  Risque photo, don't click spoiler if at work  :p

Really excellent work man! I honestly can't see anything to critique other than it is *almost* too risque for this forum {not for me personally, mind you :D}. It's cool too see some nice work done in Blender. I played around with it a while back and was really enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Yeah, a couple of the mods took a quick look at it and agreed that is was pretty risque, but we decided to allow it for now since it is art and we thought it would be appreciated in this section of the forum.

That being said....thats really awesome, man.  I'm very very impressed. :)

Thanks for the heads up. Most of my work is pretty risque, but I will crop it if I think it crosses the line of decency. :)

I get the whole "mod's approve" thingy, but can we have something added to the subject line that says it's not work safe??  :) :p

Overall it is a great program. There are a few things that annoy me, like there is no 'move and sew UVs' tool in the version I am using. However, it is more than adequate for my needs!

They are making great improvements to the animation work flow this year, so I can't wait until that is complete!

I might download it during the holidays next week. If the models are cross-compatible between the programs, I could utilise different tools to make my models.

 Awesome work! :drool
I gotta say... Lightning pushed me to getting a PS3. I'm thinking about going ahead and getting the game and play it on my friend's PS3 until I have the money for my own.

But anyway, Great work! *New Wallpaper*

nice work, you're a decent modeler, I've been working on stuff myself. Though I would work a bit on anatomy, and I am guessing you know about the facial features. Well, if you need any more help contact me, also I am working on my own Lightning and hope to get started on it in a few days, might take me about a week to work, probably rig it and do some animation on it which would take me a few more weeks. =)

Very, VERY nice work there. Also I like the slight element of naughtiness that you encorporated.

Only thing wrong with vanielle is her breasts are quite perky. And she isn't in a cold environment! =P
