Crysis 2: Maximum edition

is on sale on Steam currently...  How good IS Crysis 2?  I have seen some of it on PS3.  I have played through Crysis, but got bored with Crysis: Warhead.

Is Crysis 2 a big improvement over the first two games in the franchise?
