Google Earth....
« on: July 18, 2005, 10:50:27 PM »
http://earth.google.com/

This makes you feel really small...

One of the coolest things I've ever seen. Extremely accurate, I found my hometown and it is the real thing.

The only inaccuracies result from outdated information.

Umm..you know you can just use MapQuest and be done with it, its pretty accurate as well and doesn't require you downloading an extra program. Anyways, thanks for the link though, I like how it actually shows a real map unlike some place they just show you some kind of artificial crap. *uninstalls programs he hasn't used since the day he got this PC*

You know you could also use the Google Map thing and look at a Satellite View instead of downloading a huge program.

No, I wasn't showing this so you could use it instead of a map. I was just saying it was cool cause of all the detail it has. People these days...

I downloaded the program but it wouldn't install, double-clicked it and nothing happened. *moves the program to the recycle bin*

Bman, stop bashing it. It is just a neat thing to have on your computer, ok? So it isn't very practical, big deal. I have never seen what my house looks like from outer space, I though maybe you guys would like to see it.

Yeah, that would be pretty sweet. You can see cars, but I don't think you can zoom in far enough to see people.

they were messing around with this in class the other day.  It was somewhat freaky.... the time they took the pic, there were semi's on the road..etc..

You could see pretty good detail (although everything is flat, of course).

:lol  yeah... Google Moon... that is not a bad idea though.  I wonder how hard it would be to map out other planest (all they have to do is have image satellites orbiting).

no... the class was in "information systems" :lol
we were just messing with the Google Earth.

I have it and look at it every day, if you turn on the national geographic thingy, you can go to Africa and search for those red planes, they have super close ups on people and villages and stuffles.
