Earlier this month Rockstar released the m rated GTA San Andreas for Xbox and PC. Next month Grand Theft Auto is moving to the PSP with GTA Liberty City Stories. Last week Rockstar announced even more additions to the GTA franchise which are GTA: The Trilogy for Xbox and GTA: San Andreas Special edition for PS2. Both are to be released on October 8 and both are rated M for mature.
The Trilogy brings all the action of GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas to one box set. Rockstar has not yet released any information regarding the price of the set.
GTA: San Andreas Special Edition for the PS2 will include The Introduction, a featurette showing the events that lead up to the beginning of GTA San Andreas. The stories are told by several different characters from the game which all lead up to a drive by of Grove Street Gang members. Also the Special Edition will include the documentary Sunday Driver, which follows a low rider club in Los Angeles. The movie that will also be released in UMD format for the PSP will show people the life of the Majestics, a group in South Central that customizes cars. Rockstar has not yet released any pricing information for this game either.
Clearly all of this activity shows that Rockstar is not giving up on GTA after all of the recent controversy over the "Hot Coffee" mod in San Andreas.
